One thing I rarely talk about on this blog is cleavage. There are several reasons for this: 1. I’m small busted, so I’ve never really had cleavage before, 2. it’s rarely relevant to the types of lingerie I post and 3. I think that US culture can tend to put way too much focus on it. Despite all of these caveats, I’ve always wondered what it would be like, similar to embodying a mythical persona: Cleavage Girl. Enter Poison Lingerie.
I was very intrigued by the Poison Lingerie Trésor bra when they offered to send me one to test because I find ‘solution’ lingerie fascinating– I always want to know what it really does. The three areas they focus on are posture-enhancement, push-up and back smoothing and contouring. While these three are not central concerns for me, I was definitely interested to see how they would manifest.
I do love the fact that even though this has a lot of structure in it, it’s still very pretty. Embroidery is one of my favorite embellishment and the gold is so luxurious– the name ‘Trésor’ is so appropriate. The bra does have a texture, but it’s flat and invisible under anything but the sheerest tops. When it comes to posture, I can’t say that I felt a significant difference, although the bra is the most secure I have ever worn. I probably should have done a poll to see if anyone else thought I was standing taller.
I was interested to see the many unusual techniques they use to create a push-up effect. Check out the boning they use on the side of the cup and the cool hexagonal stretch mesh, as well as a pocket for padding if you want it (I didn’t). They also include clear straps, a back extender and instructions on how to put the bra on in the packaging, which I appreciated.
I know you’re wondering: what about cleavage? It happened! Without padding! I should let you know that I have never had cleavage before. I wandered around for the rest of the day feeling like a totally different, very voluptuous person (I’ll admit, it was fun). A few important notes: the way that the bra works to create a push-up/cleavage effect means that for someone with a small bust like me, there is less projection and your breasts are pushed very much to the center of your chest, which means there is a bit less width– with padding or with a larger bust you wouldn’t have to make this choice, but I am happy to accept these trade-offs to serve different lingerie purposes.

Pics or it didn’t happen: I had to show you guys what the bra looked like under clothes so you’d believe me
One negative? I just didn’t like the ‘jewel’ attached to the center– I ended up snipping it off. Otherwise, I was very happy with my Poison Lingerie set, finding it comfortable and true to size (I wore a 34B and an M). The cleavage action does decrease throughout the day as your boobs settle back into their most natural position, but it still looks great over long periods.
The thing about cleavage is, it’s not that I actually yearn to have it constantly– I’m a huge fan of sheer bras and balconette bras. But having my Poison Lingerie bra justs gives me another boob option that I had not previous considered a possibility. If you’re small-busted and would like to see what cleavage might be like or want a bra with strong support and push-up action, I would recommend Poison. How it would work on larger busts I can’t really say, but I’d be interested to learn. It’s now my go-to option for a little more va-va-voom in a V-neck sweater.
What do you think? Would you try Poison Lingerie?
